Wanna help us design? 2012-03-21 12:16:45
Now I've just put up a new section with some banners and printable material that you can use to spread the word about our music. We appreciate all help we can get in designing new things that you can print, put on your blog or wherever you like, so if you're sitting on some great ideas and want to bring them into the band, please contact me, oskar at taikes dot com or leave a comment here or on Facebook.

Christmas is all around 2011-12-25 02:22:37
Yup, we're all in the middle of it right now, whether you're at home with the family, going to church, supporting local charities, singing Christmas carols or finding yourself inevitable omnipresent shopping mania. This year I've avoided the shopping by an agreement with the family to buy just a few presents, which also suits my economy very well. Instead of shopping, though, I spent most of the week with fever in bed. Haven't been sick otherwise this semester so I guess it had built up for now when the holidays were finally kicking in. =/ I listened to a few of those songs from the 'Love Actually' movie before. 'Christmas is all around' never get's old. =) Otherwise over the last few weeks my favourite song has been 'Charlie Brown' from the new Coldplay album. (And why did Paradise get to be a single? I did not care very much for it at least.) Never mind. Don't forget to check out the new songs we've been uploading to our Youtube page from the gig at Henriksberg in November. Hope you like them! http://www.youtube.com/taikes

New energy! 2011-05-10 09:18:17
I've been away for a week in Budapest (great city btw, and I met some very nice people) and now I'm back and full of energy. We had a great rehearsal yesterday! Can't really tell you any details, but Johan has some really interesting songs up his sleeve! Now I feel really motivated just doing a lot of band-related stuff. Also, a few weeks ago I got an interesting e-mail from a russian guy who really loved our music. I was very happy to hear that, and to discover that our music nowadays reaches all over the world so easily. It's the kind of input that makes one happy and wanting to do more and more.

Anberlin 2010-10-06 21:17:28
Just discovered the band Anberlin. Really nice music, alternative rock somewhere between Jimmy Eat World, A Perfect Circle and Porcupine Tree. Usually when looking for new music I listen to advice from friends or check my recommendations at last.fm. This time it was a very different accidental process finding this band. I was browsing around trying to find a good portable audio recorder on behalf of my dad, and upon checking the site for Zoom Q3 there was some kind of emo rock soundtrack in the background, which happened to be Anberlin's song 'The Feel Good Drag'. Today I've spent time cutting videos from the gigs at Henriksberg and Backstage. I just wish we had some better video camera with a mic input! Btw, if you're looking for a portable audio recording solution I ended up recommending my father to get the $99 Zoom H1, mainly for the affordable price. Hopefully we'll be able to borrow it some time and improve the sound from the Vado HD 2nd gen currently used.

Site improvements 2010-09-04 22:59:56
I've managed to take some time today to make Facebook's "Like"-buttons work on the blog posts on the Taikes site. Looks alright so far. Now, like please! =)

Uppsala! 2010-09-04 22:58:08
I'm in Uppsala since a week now, to study a meteorology course at Uppsala university for my master's thesis at Chalmers. It means I will be here until the end of October, only going back to Gothenburg from time to time to practice with the band before our gigs in Husaren@Skövde and Sticky Fingers@Gbg. Everything's going fine up here so far and yesterday I met up with some of our old friends whom we met when we were here playing at Grand in 2005-2006. We were totally shocked when we discovered it had been so long time ago! (I trettio år.., haha...) Anyway we went to a really cool place, 'Skeppet' (the ship), which is a boat and a bar on the Fyrisån river in the centre of town. Today I've spent most of the time coding and cooking.

Indoors 2010-07-30 15:40:50
For some strange reason the rain seems to go on forever. I'm listening to a good and appropriate soundtrack, English Summer Rain by Placebo. Right now I've resorted to indoor activities such as making some music in Logic. Also, Starcraft 2 is out! I played a little too many hours yesterday night, so this morning it was hard to get up, but it is an extremely good game and a worthy successor! We had a good rehearsal session yesterday, but I managed to get some blisters on my hands. I've got to start practicing more often and not for so long each time.

Summertime 2010-07-12 21:50:05
...and the living is easy. Well not quite. We've had 30-35°C all weekend (which translates to 86-95°F for the non-standardised part of the world) and I've been quite a lot at the lakes. As the new week begins I will now rework more parts of the website.

Poster for something 2010-07-01 12:10:27
I just finished designing a new poster for Taikes' biggest moment so far. Can't say more now. =) Stay tuned on this website for more info within the coming month.
